"Destroyed"
1. The column "Destroyed" talks about the purity of sports being lost to performance enhancing drugs. Doping as it is called , has become such the norm that is has actually become a wager-able activity in Las Vegas. Doping takes away from truly talented athletes and give the fans a false hero in the chosen sport. But is the temporary fame worth the shortened life span induced by the drugs.
2. So to paraphrase paragraph 10 The true problem is the athletes poor health and dramatically shortened life span after using steroids.
3. "And it all goes back to purity " (The Bedford Reader 11th edition page 581 )
This is a defining moment ,it brings the whole idea together. An athlete is to be talented strong and above average in the sport with no help from anything but desire and practice. Chemically enhanced performances take away from the truly talented individuals that work hard and give their all to the sport.

Hi Teresah!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to get your blog published. I would recommend that when you paraphrase, you give a bit more of what the author is trying to convey. I also wanted to double check that you paraphrased paragraph 10, and not 6.
With your MLA citations, be sure to use correct parenthetical citations at the end of each paraphrase, which would be the author's last name and corresponding page number where the information comes from. Like: (Martin 582).
You also need to correctly cite your works cited, as well. Keep this in mind for future reference.
